Main properties of copper wire for wire and cable

Copper Pure copper, also known as red copper, is a heavy metal with a 8.89 specific gravity and a purple-red metallic luster.

IEC specifies standard soft copper with density of 8.89; At 20 ℃, the resistivity is 0.017241Ω.mm2/m (conductivity is 1/58 s.m/mm2) and the temperature coefficient of resistance is 3.93 × 10-8/℃, at which time the conductivity is called 100 IACS. The conductivity of oxygen-free copper can reach 102%. The conductivity decreases with increasing oxygen content. The conductivity of silver can reach 108%IACS.
